Poor Unfortunate Souls

You've found yourself in a strange place indeed traveler. Whether you recall making your way here or not, you now stand (or float) in the lair of the Sea Witch. All are welcome here, to plead for help changing their lot in life. Even those who might otherwise drown will find themselves somehow able to breathe and speak just fine.

However, she's quite the busy woman. It would be best to make yourself known and state your case quickly or you might find yourself removed by her precious pets and cast out into the unforgiving (and far less lung-friendly) ocean. And do take care to have something of value to offer in exchange. There are fates worse than death and her garden has been looking a little lonely lately.


[OOC: I couldn't find a meme I felt would fit for her, so I figured I'd post a sort of catch-all for anyone who might want to play off her! Feel free to tag it anytime, even if it's been a while since it's been posted. I'd love to practice her voice with others!]

[ The prefect blinks owlishly as he realizes he's not immediately choking underwater while in his human form. By his senses alone, Azul can tell this level of magic is pretty extraordinary- a level he wishes to reach one day. Still, he'll shift his form slightly so that he does have his gills under his suit- he's not taking any risks.

One minute, he was in the comfort of the Mostro Lounge VIP room, the next? He's in a dark ocean, standing around the entrance of a lair that's not his own... But he has read about this place. If he wasn't able to feel the chill of the water on his skin, he'd be convinced he's dreaming right now. Still... he's not one to lurk in doorways- it's quite rude.

Even in his human form, he's an adept swimmer. Slow going, but he still knows how to get around. This comes especially in handy as he carefully avoids the garden of polyps, terrifying as it is. Okay... this is becoming way too familiar. He HAS to be dreaming... right? He could very well be in the lair of a legend right now.

Slowing to a stop as he arrives at the inner chamber, he looks around in awe as he takes it all in. He's almost afraid to say anything, but somehow still musters up the courage to speak. ]

He... Hello?

[ The voice that comes from within the hanging shell on the back wall is kind and sounds somewhat amused. ]

Well isn't this a surprise. Had I known to expect guests I would have prepared some hors d'oeuvres.

[ As Azul steps in, Ursula comes into view, sitting just within the shell. She gives a look to the two eels she was just petting, and they move in unison as if to shrug. Clearly it was not them who brought their guest here. ]

One can never really know what the currents will bring, can they?

[ She gives a small chuckle and moves, pushing herself gracefully to float down to the floor. ]

[ Make no doubt about it, Azul is definitely in the presence of a living legend. Three of them to be exact, given that the eels are mere feet away as well. Oh, if only Jade and Floyd were here to see this. ]

Ha... that is true, that.

[ He certainly feels like he was just swept in from a current. Come on, Azul, pull yourself together! You're only in the presence of the very hero you've been trying to emulate and perhaps surpass from a young age- this is fine! He takes off his hat and clears his throat. ]

Forgive me- I'm usually much more eloquent than this. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd meet you. You could say I'm a bit of a fan.

[ She even moves with such grace! He's a little starstruck. Azul puts his hat to his chest and bows in greeting. ]

I'm Azul Ashengrotto- it's an honor to make your acquaintance.

[ Ursula picks up on those nerves of his, her smile grows wider. ]

A boy with sense! How refreshing.

[ And oh that bow! A boy after her own heart. ]

It's so rare to find younger folk with manners these days. While you do seem to know me, it would be remiss of me to not properly introduce myself. You stand in the home of Ursula.

[ Completely relaxed, she moves to check her make-up in the mirror of her vanity. She combs a stray hair back into place and seems satisfied. ]

Now what might bring you to my humble abode?

[ Oh, Azul absolutely preens at the praise! This is why manners are important!!! When the Sea Witch speaks however, he perks up. ]

Ursula...

[ For all of the history Twisted Wonderland has surrounding the Great Seven, it seems not all things were preserved. Names get lost to time, and so were replaced with titles. As fitting as they are, nothing beats the true power of knowing someone's name. Azul smiles wider; how exciting was it to finally have the name of the Sea Witch he greatly reveres! Not to mention, he could very well make waves back home with this information- it's priceless.

On the topic of why he is here however, Azul pushes up his glasses in thought. ]

That... I can't entirely say. One moment I'm sitting at my desk in my office, the next I'm here. Perhaps there may be some powerful time magic at play... But by whom, begs the question.

[ She allows him to marinate in her glory, waving over her eel companions while he thinks aloud.

Flotsam swims behind Azul, nudging him a few steps further into the room, where Jetsam has dragged over what appears to be a stool carved from bone. ]

By all means, make yourself comfortable. If you didn't end up here on your own, there must be some reason you were brought here.

[ It was simply unthinkable that there could be magic more strong than hers in these waters, the triton aside. And the chances of that overblown king summoning some teenager to her lair? Not likely in the least. As she speaks, one of her tentacles extends to pull over a seat for herself. She makes herself comfortable and gives each of her boys a scritch under the chin for such good hospitality. ]

Perhaps you have need of my services?

Ah- thank you.

[ Azul smiles as he's led to the chair by the eels- how intriguing they were! He nods in greeting and thanks to the both of them as he sits down, his hat on his lap. He quickly shifts his cane into a magic pen and puts it in the inside of his coat. ]

I suppose so, if I'm to return back to my time at some point... I'm afraid I haven't been taught chronomancy quite yet. [ He chuckles lightly. But to leave so quickly when he has only just met his hero? That seems like a true shame. ] However...

[ There is something he could ask. ]

Would you ever be open to taking on a student or three? If I may be so bold to ask.

Well I've never considered myself much of a teacher.

[ She gives a deep chuckle. The eels swim off to lurk a small distance away, it seems it's time for the boss to get to work. ]

But perhaps I could be persuaded. What do you think you have to offer?

[ Oh, time to talk business, is it? Azul smiles. He's never more in his element than when striking a deal! And if he plays his cards right, he may just impress his idol. ]

Hmm... How about information? It doesn't seem like much now, perhaps, but it's a very valuable resource.

[ Since he technically is from the future. ]

And... you may find we're more alike than at first glance.

Hmm, information. Only really worth it if it's something you can use, no? I could tell you any number of things that would inform you, but that doesn't mean they're helpful.

[ She chuckles. ]

You say you're misplaced in time, that could make what you know very informative!

Or completely worthless.

[ She lightens her tone after the string of harsh words. ]

You'll have to elaborate dear.
